Changing Priorities in Orthodontics
Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Health

Changing priorities,
to better care for your child.
Airway Health Center Clinicians
For the last 14 years our practice has focused on the treatment of TMJ Dysfunction and Sleep Disordered Breathing. Over the years we have treated more than 3000 patients with snoring and sleep apnea utilizing oral appliance therapy.
While treating these patients we noticed that many of them didn’t fit the common profile (overweight, large neck etc.). Many patients are in good physical shape, but with specific dental abnormalities: under-developed jaws and face, mouth breathing, undersized airway, and insufficient orthodontic treatment. These issues should have been corrected in their childhood!
We realized that we can help thousands of kids grow up healthier and avoid many health issues later in life. As a result of this new understanding, we assembled a group of likeminded physicians and other healthcare professionals to help diagnose and treat these problems in early childhood.
Our Airway Health division is headed by Doctor Luba Kisilyuk. “Ever since I found out my son has sleep apnea, I developed a special interest in the pediatric Sleep Disordered Breathing field. Kids with this disorder don’t get proper sleep, and often develop problems like behavior issues, hyperactivity, mood disorders, and poor grades in school. Lack of adequate sleep in children can negatively affect brain development, and no one wants that for their children. That’s why one of my professional goals has become to identify and treat sleep apnea in kids, so they can grow and develop to their full physical and mental potential.” — Luba Kisilyuk, DDS
